I have to admit that Silicon Valley is one of my favorite shows, I love to catch it on reruns, which means the boys have it playing on Netflix.

The cooler nights always make me want to curl up on the couch and snuggle in for another episode of ANYTHING worthy, right now we are watching the new show, Emily in Paris. It totally reminds me of Sex In the City, and of course, Schitt$ Creek has us rolling -- no wonder they won so many awards.

Are you with me!

Walk Down Memory Lane

Walk Down Memory Lane
🍬 With Halloween around the corner let’s take a minute to walk down memory lane!

Shout out if you’re ready for Halloween!🎃

Dressing up as Plants Vs. Zombies is still one of my all time favorite Halloween costumes. Was anyone else as addicted to that game as our family? It really took some strategy - at least it took what was known as strategy in 2012. There is so much nostalgia wrapped up in this holiday for me, life was definitely simpler when the most important task of the week was going door to door collecting candy. Am I right?

I would love to hear which Halloween costume was your favorite!👻

Life Hack!✨

Life Hack!✨
I’m not gonna lie - this is a pretty common place to find our dryer balls - that or in my sleeve. Or then there are the teen-age boys pelting each other as hard as they can from across the room with dryer balls - everywhere but in the dryer!
If you haven’t switched from dryer sheets to wool dryer balls now is the perfect time! If you’ve never done the research on the toxic load dryer sheets leave in your system -- message me, it’s NOT GOOD.
I digress, add a drop of Clove, Cinnamon Bark, and Northern Lights Black Spruce and make your cozy autumn blankets even cozier. The warm and spicy aromas pair perfectly with those cool nights spent curled up on the couch with your favorite hot beverage. ☕️
Where do your balls end up?
(yes this could leave me wide open for a bunch of off colored jokes - or memes - contain yourself).

Let’s take a minute to talk about the power of our words. 🗣

Let’s take a minute to talk about the power of our words. 🗣

Are you in the weeds? Are you on cloud nine?

As we move through the middle of October it is really real that we are settling in to learning from home, teaching from empty classrooms, that our life didn’t get back to normal at the beginning of a new school year. Our words give this reality perspective. Many teachers think the kids are doing great - well … yes, compared to April, but no, compared to January. We need positive words to lift us up, we need positive words to remember our WHY in education right now.

The power of affirmation can’t be overlooked or understated. Positive words have the ability to reframe our perspective. I don’t know about you but with all the change our world has been experiencing this year, it’s even more critical for us to take time and evaluate those words that are influencing us. Tell me your opinion!  Are you feeling like a Pollyanna or a Debbie-Downer?

Whether you need to speak words of affirmation over yourself or someone else today, take the time to be intentional with the words you speak.

I would love to hear what words of affirmation have been most impactful in your life.

Inspiration!✨

Inspiration!✨

I dont know about you, but some days I have a hard time getting my creative juices flowing. When I feel stuck I often turn to the outdoors, here at home walking up Gehricke Road or up through Gundlach Bundschu provides views, sounds, smells of nature to disconnect and restart and find that extra bit of inspiration.

At work, I am lucky to be on the junior high campus temporarily and when I walk out the classroom door I’m surrounded by native plants that attract bees, hummingbirds, lizards, quail, and even voles. Lucky for me my phone only works outside of the classroom so I’m forced into nature several times a day.

Lastly,  I also find inspiration in almost anything IG @sustainoilyliving posts, she hits home every time, be it about emotions, parenting, or just daily life. And Ms.Danielle inspires me with her amazing cricket creations and always thinking outside the box to connect with her students through zoom.

Share who inspires you or the thing that ignites a fire in you!
